Community Resource Efficiency (CRE) Hub
Supporting women-led micro-enterprises
with decentralised energy transitions
The CRE Hub supports women-led coastal enterprises in Ernakulam with renewable energy systems, cold storage, and capacity-building to strengthen climate resilience, reduce losses, and enable sustainable livelihood growth.
The Community Resource Efficiency (CRE) Hub is a community-based initiative led by EQUINOCT with support from IEEE Smart Village. It works with women-led micro-enterprises in coastal Ernakulam to strengthen their resilience to climate risks through decentralised renewable energy systems, improved cold storage, and enterprise development support.
The Hub focuses on the intersection of energy, livelihoods, and gender, helping women entrepreneurs access the tools, infrastructure, and training they need to reduce losses, grow their businesses, and adapt to changing environmental and economic conditions.
