ForeSight
Human-Animal Coexistence
ForeSight is an upcoming web and mobile platform that fosters human-wildlife coexistence through real-time data sharing, visualization of animal movements, and identification of potential conflict zones.
Overview
ForeSight: A Collaborative Platform for Human-Wildlife Coexistence is an upcoming web platform and mobile application designed to help communities and authorities better understand and address human-wildlife conflict. By combining real-time community-sourced data with official forest and land-use information, it provides a dynamic visualization of animal movements and potential conflict zones.
How it works
Community members will be able to contribute reports of wildlife sightings and threats, creating an immediate ground-level perspective. The Forest Department will simultaneously integrate critical datasets such as in-forest sightings, land-use patterns, stream networks, and infrastructure within forest boundaries including check dams and roads.
ForeSight is being developed as a collaborative initiative with the Forest Department, Local Self Government Institutions, the Ernakulam Jilla Panchayat, and the District Disaster Management Authority. The platform is designed to foster early warnings, informed decision-making, and coordinated responses. By bridging community knowledge and institutional data, ForeSight seeks to become a trusted tool for building resilience and enabling coexistence at the human-wildlife interface.
